I stumbled upon a great resource site called
Free Quilt Patterns that has a directory of websites and blogs offering
free quilt patterns. If you offer free quilt patterns on your blog or website you can submit your site to be included. I saw many familiar sites listed alphabetically in this directory. Also, you can search for patterns by category, of which there are about fifty.
There is also a very cool tool called
Pattern Playground that lets you choose block size, number of rows, number of columns, border size, three fabric choices from Moda, P & B Textiles or Windham, then gives you the finished quilt size.
When you are satisfied with the design you can print the
quilt pattern, material list and directions. Set the timer...this can be addicting!
