WIP November 9, 2011

Right now I'm concentrating on the wall hanging I'm making for the SewHappyGeek Table Runner/Wall Hanging Swap. I wish I could have gotten on with this project a bit quicker but I did a lot of thinking about it and had to let the design evolve...which is a great departure from how I normally work. I'm almost finished with another pillow case for Golisano's Children's Hospital and have three more cut out ready to sew. But for now I have to concentrate on the wall hanging as it is supposed to be on it's way to my partner November 15....eeeks!  Here is a glimpse at how I settled on my final layout for the swap wall hanging.

Not quite the look I wanted.

Loving the color wheel rainbow.

Nah...to plain, boring layout and crowded feeling.

Better but still not happy with it.

Ta...Da! I took a break, stalked my partner some more. A couple days later I came up with this layout. Besides the rainbow color wheel theme my partner seems to be fond of hexagons and likes quilts, blocks and quilting that radiates out from the center.  I'm happy with the way my design is evolving now!

  1. Thanks Karen.....I'm really down to the wire now trying to get this completed in time!
